Sehar (Ayesha Takia) is an teen who has a habit of forgetting things. On a Saturday, she sees a brutal fighting appearing outside her house, but is later cheered up when she goes clubbing with her best friend Ritu (Anjana Sukhani) and gets drugged with date rape drug Rohypnol and loses her memory of what happens next. Monday morning brings her tons of surprises in the form of a taxi driver Ballu (Arshad Warsi) who wants his taxi fare, some thugs who want to kill her and a wannabe actor (Irrfan Khan) who thinks shes a ghost. A girl has been found murdered with seemingly no connections whatsoever to Sehar. The twist in the story is that another man has been murdered the same night Sehar loses her memory of. As her to-be-beau ACP Rajveer (Ajay Devgan) tries to reconstruct the events of the missing Sunday, the mystery deepens and finally bursts open in an unexpected climax, which shows that the real murderer actually was the same guy who was beating someone up outside of Sehar's house at the beginning, the Mayor's son (Ali Asgar), and he only did it because his girlfriend cheated on him.
The film starts with the murder of a girl by her boyfriend, after he shows her some of her photos in compromising positions. It is implied that the boyfriend knew of her cheating on him with his friend & hence the murder. The murderer's face is not shown.
Then Sehar, the heroine is introduced. Sehar lives alone in Delhi in a flat & has only one friend, Ritu, a fashion designer. Sehar is a voiceover artist for cartoon films. On other hand, the hero, ACP Rajveer Randhawa, is a corrupt police officer.
Sehar's mother wants her daughter to get married. Since Rajveer's mother is a friend of Sehar's mother, Rajveer is the lucky candidate. However, even before she can know of Rajveer's connection with her, Sehar learns about Rajveer's true nature & gives him a dressing down. Nevertheless, Rajveer falls for her.
Now, Sehar has a mental disorder, due to which certain triggers block out her memory - she can forget what happened in a certain time period of her own life. So, she turns down Ritu's invite to a party in a club. Ritu takes her nevertheless. Next day, Sehar wakes up in her own flat, not remembering anything about the night & having surprisingly little hangover. She assumes that everything is alright.
However, she is in for a shock when she learns that she has woke up on a Monday, not Sunday. Since the party was on Saturday, the only explanation is that she slept throughout the Sunday. As she starts hearing all voice mails & recordings, she realizes that something sinister happened & she is a part of it.
Sehar's fears are proved right as she gets a feeling that a certain stranger(Murli Sharma) is stalking her. Also, Ballu, a taxi driver, whom she has never seen, asks her for fare of a trip she has never taken. Besides, Kumar, a wannabe actor & Ballu's friend panics on seeing her & tells everybody that Sehar is a ghost.
Sehar & Ritu decide to go to police. Rajveer is handed the case. Sehar's reports state that she was given a rape drug - which means that the drug along with drinks acted as trigger for all the events that happened. Sehar & Rajveer both have a sinking feeling that Sehar maybe a murderer/murder witness.
When Rajveer starts reconstructing the events, a man is found murdered not very far from the place where Sehar was last seen. In spite of knowing what it means, Rajveer keeps on investigating. Most of the events are easily explained. Sehar apparently escaped from the club under the drug's influence & this caused the chain of events. Rajveer finds out the youngsters who put the drugs in Sehar's drink. They confess, but the story only explains how Sehar got out of the club unnoticed.
Ballu & Kumar turn out to be red herrings as well. Sehar had taken a trip in Ballu's taxi under the influence of drugs, hence she didn't remember him. Also, Kumar's reaction was just due to him misunderstanding her for a ghost. Just when Rajveer runs out of leads, some goons try to kill Sehar. Rajveer saves her, and to his relief, realizes that Sehar maybe innocent. However, he also realizes that Sehar maybe the only witness to the murder.
Rajveer baits the goons to capture them. With help of Ballu & Kumar, Rajveer locks up the goons. When the goons start talking, Rajveer finally pieces the chain of events together. On other hand, Raj Khurana, a local bigwig, is inaugurating a car showroom. Rajveer abruptly stops the function & arrests Khurana's son for double murder. A confused & furious Khurana demands explanation from Rajveer.
Rajveer starts telling the whole story. Khurana's son loved & dated a girl, with whom he wanted to get married. Unknown to him, the girl was cheating on him with his friend. When Khurana's son learned this, he killed her. On other hand, when Sehar went to the party on Saturday, two local spoiled brats put the rape drug in her drink. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, they lost Sehar.
Sehar acted under the drugs influence & took a ride in Ballu's taxi. She ended up near the spot for second murder. That was where Khurana's son killed his friend, on Saturday night, some days after killing the girl. But when he saw Sehar nearby, he thought that she saw everything. To silence her & keep his identity secret, Khurana's son hired the goons.
Khurana is unable to believe anything said by Rajveer. Khurana's son also denies the allegations vehemently, but when Rajveer brings him face to face with the goons, he has to confess. An angry Khurana sends his own son to jail. With the threat gone, Rajveer & Sehar reconcile. But Sehar is still not able to understand the role of the stalker or his identity. With Khurana's son denying any knowledge about the stalker, even Rajveer is perplexed about this loose end.
But then, the stalker surprises both Rajveer & Sehar by showing up at the police station. From the chain of events & the "stalkers" explanation, it is learned that after Sehar was last seen near crime scene, the stalker, who was a taxi driver, saw her & realized that she was drugged. To avoid any untoward incidents, he rifled through her contents, found her local address & dropped her at her flat.
The "stalker" explains that he was just checking to see whether Sehar was okay or not. The stalker departs with a friendly warning to Sehar. With this final mystery solved, the story ends on a happy note, with Kumar telling what happened next with everyone.
